Perennial Splendor
Located near a natural hillside area, this property incorporates the client’s vision of rugged charm with the horticultural richness of the Bay area. We worked closely with the architect to reimagine and reconstruct the site to the needs of the clients; they desired easy hospitality and better circulation for their children. We crafted an intimate experience by designing several family-friendly outdoor rooms that the entire family could interact with year-round.
A blend of materials and textures work harmoniously to provide an effortless transition between spaces. Jagged flagstone paths lead to the pool and the main garden and intersect with an artisanal fountain. Boxwoods, phormiums, and evergreen shrubs provide structure to the garden and perennials give year-round appeal. We also added a cutting garden for floral arrangements. The pool and spa area is contained by a Napa basalt stone wall making for an intimate place to gather with family and friends.
